| Edward has a fiery attitude and was easily provoked by slightest indication to his height. He has many ways to vent his anger when someone insults his height and he is calculative to the number of times a person calls him short. When that happens, he will demand an apology for the statement. Despite that, deep inside, he is a kind and understanding person. Edward has a strong dislike for milk since young and would avoid whenever possible. Despite his laid-back attitude at times, he is in fact caring for his younger brother. In fact, his greatest weakness is his younger brother. Edward is emotional and at times, easily pessimistic when it concerns loss of human lives. |

| Edward's mother passed away when he was young and he was etremely upset with his father who failed to return home at his mother's death bed. As such, he held a strong hate for his father. Together with his younger brother-Alphonse, they went to learn alchemy and upon mastering the skill, Edward managed to get his brother to perform human alchemy to bring their mother back. As a result, Edward lost an arm and leg. After installing artifical automail to replace his lost limbs, he went in search of a way to bring back his lost limbs as well as his younger brother's physical body that was lost during the human transmutation. Highly skilled in alchemy, Edward went to sit for a military test and became the youngest state alchemist. He was assigned under Colonel Roy Mustang's team. Despite his position, he often argued with his superior and never stop seeking the truth and ways to get his younger brother's body back from the gate. Throughout the missions, he discovered the truth behind the military and of homuncli-man made humans created by failures of human transmutation. Despite the difficulties, he never gave up his hope and eventually sacrificed himself and went through the other side of the gate while his younger brother-Alphonse got his body back. |
